An unforgettable traveling

I really like traveling. I feel that traveling can broaden my horizons and relax myself. I like to travel with different kinds of people, whether it is my family or friends. One of the most impressive experience was a trip to Taiwan with my college friends last Christmas holiday.

As I was stunned by various Taiwanese idol TV series and beautiful legends, my friends and I decided to travel to Taiwan together a year ago. This time, I traveled together with my best five girl friends who I met in the university Drama Club, all this made the trip full of fun and moving.

It took us ten days to visit three cities, Taichung, Hualien and Taipei, which is the longest trip I have ever taken and it is also my happiest time.

Our first destination is Taichung, the central of Taiwan. That was a sunny day with the blue sky and white clouds. We visited Donghai University, which is famous for its beautiful scenery. We sat on the grass in front of the church, bathing the bright sunshine and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere in the campus.

After that, we went to have dinner. The Fengjia Night Market in Taichung is one of the best night markets in Taiwan. We collected a lot of traveling tips about food before we set off and prepared to have a big meal at the night market. My friend Pigeon presented a suggestion to play a game together, all of us went to buy a kind of snack that we thought were the most delicious one, and then brought back to let everyone hit a score together, at last, pick the best food, and the winners can get rewards. I still remembered that night filled with laughter, and I tasted Taiwan’s most distinctive local cuisine such as large intestines package small intestines, round rice, braised pork rice and so on. Each food has its own unique taste which made us fascinated.

The second stop of the trip is Hualien in the eastern Taiwan. Hualian is famous for its blue sea and misty peaks. It is really a pure land. We piled stones in Qixingtan. It is said that one can have good luck with seven piled up stones. We sat on the clear water cliff with our feet hanging in the air, as well as bathing in the gentle sunshine. At last, we drove through the cave where the rocks was irritating to the pebbles that may fall at any time. In the evening, we also went to a famous Starbucks coffee shop which was built with 29 containers. It is said that this is an internationally renowned architect who personally manipulates the sunshade glass windows in a staggered stack, that can reflect the blue sky and white clouds. You can see the sun is shining, and the remote mountains are waving at you, that is exactly the quite Hualien!

When we were in Hualien, it happened to catch up with the Christmas eve. Thus we organized a gift exchange activity. Everyone picked up a gift before they traveled. On that day, we played the game to draw the object of the gift, and everyone could receive a gift by other. The moment of receiving gifts is very exciting. I received a film camera and I found it very suitable for me because I really like to use camera to record my colorful life. After changing the gift, we chatted and talked to each other till very late.

After appreciating the natural scenery, we took the small train to Taipei in the north part of Taiwan. We went to fly the sky lanterns. There is a large lantern festivals every year. Countless lanterns flew to the sky together spotted the dark night sky. We also wrote the wishes and expectations for the future on the sky lights, and then looked the lights drift further and further with the wind. In the evening, we visited the Jiufen ancient town, which is the location for many movies. We tasted the sweet bean blossoms and wheel cakes that left us a good memory in the journey.

The last destination was Taipei. My friends and I visited the National Palace Museum to appreciate many precious cultural relics. I was amazed at the changes in history and the glory of the ancient empire.

On the last day of 2018, we came to Taiwan’s tallest building called 101 to watch the fireworks and welcome the New Year. People was crowded, everyone wanted to draw a perfect ending for the upcoming 2018. Although the weather was a little raining, the enthusiasm of us remained undiminished. We shouted countdowns together, “5, 4, 3, 2, 1! happy New Year!”. The 101 building spouted beautiful fireworks at the moment that was rather colorful and dazzling. Everyone embraced each other and celebrated the New Year. That was the most ceremonial event I have ever had.

Although the trip in Taiwan was ended, our friendship has warmed up and everyone knew each other better. We also used the camera to record lots of pleasant moments on the road. We also cut it into a vlog and put it on the Internet. This travel was really unforgettable!
