My grandfather is a spirited old man. Even though he is 76 years old, he still maintains his passion for life, and he has a great influence on me.
When I was in elementary school, my grandfather liked to tell me some stories, whether it was the knowledge in the book or the experience of my grandfather. From the age of three, I went to my grandfather’s house to sleep. My grandfather would always tell me a few stories about Tang Poetry and Thumbelina before I go to sleep. Listening to the Tang poetry every day, I felt deafness gradually, so that I could remember every word of the poetry. Every time I went to school in Chinese class, I could always recite it back and get the applause from teachers and classmates. The 300 poems of the Tang poems have been smashed, leaving behind the traces of the years.

My grandfather would often tell me the story of his childhood. At that time, they were catching up with the poverty period. There were six or seven children at home. Although they sometimes could not eat fully, my grandfather’s childhood was still very happy. In the summer, they went to the fields to steal the corn and peanuts planted by the farmers and they also walked barefoot in the shallow mud to play together. In the winter, brothers were frozen in a quilt to chat with each other, and would also buy a few cents of roasted sweet potatoes on the way to school. My grandfather said that once upon a time her sister was ill, their mother was very distressed and gave money to let grandfather go to the street to buy a steamed bread. Looking at the steamed roll of the white flower in the hand, grandpapa’s saliva flowed out. He tried to tear off a whole piece of skin outside the steamed bread and eat it. Thus, the rest is still a whole one. Grandfather is really a small ghost!

My grandfather is a person who is very persistent with music. Grandfather was fairly obsessed with music from an early age, but at that time, for the sake of poverty, he could not afford to buy musical instruments, and the music dream was stranded. But when he grown up, my grandfather rekindled the passion for music that also affected me. Grandfather likes to play the violin, play the cucurbit and the keyboard piano, these instruments can be found in his home. Every day, when I went home from school, I could always appreciate the beautiful melodies played by my grandfather.
In order to let the next generation inherit his love for music, my grandfather also taught me to play the violin when I was six years old. Every week he sent me to the violin class with the wind and rain, which also made our relationship more and more intimate. My grandfather would give me some simple instructions when I practice, such as the higher pitch, or the rhythm is not right, these small details can be all heard by him. Growing up in such a music family, I got the certificate of violin level 10 in the sixth grade of elementary school, which made the whole family feel proud.
Nowadays, after I went to college, my grandfather still practices piano and blows cucurbits at home every day, which really live and learn!

My hobbies are basically cultivated by my grandfather. Whether it is sports talent or art cells. On every Sunday of the elementary school, my grandfather would take me to the public park near my home to skate, which not only exercised my physical fitness, but also cultivated my sports cells. I won the first prize on hundred meters running competition at the primary school sports meeting. I also enjoyed to watch my grandfather practicing calligraphy. Although I don’t write well, every time I see my grandfather sitting at the desk and writing a calligraphy, I would be deeply attracted by the profoundness of Chinese culture, as if time is still. Grandpa also likes photography. Many of my childhood photos were taken from the lens of my grandfather. From the tour of the West Lake, to the lovely movements of dancing in the Literary performance, also the moment of the 100-meter sprint of the sports meeting, the camera preserved me a lot of good memories. Electronic photo albums have also been created for each period of my life by my grandfather for better preservation.
My grandfather is really positive about life. Thanks for having such a humorous old urchin grandfather. The time spent with them is pretty precious, and I will cherish the time with my family.
